Privacy policy

1.Who we are

Frienlo (the app and the website frienlo.com) is operated by Assisteks LLC, Baku, Azerbaijan ("we", "us"). We are the controller of your personal data.

2.Data we collect

We collect only the data we need to run Frienlo:

• Account data: your email address, and your Apple or Google account ID if you sign in with Apple or Google. If you sign in with email, we store your password only as a secure hash.
• Profile data: name, surname, gender, birth date, profile photo, status message, phone number, country and time zone.
• Sharings: the place and its location, the activity, who you are with, how you feel, an optional note and the time of the sharing.
• Social data: friends, close friends, friend requests, join requests and their notes, blocks and reports.
• Purchases: your pack, coin balance and transaction history. Card data goes directly to our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
• Device data: push notification token, device model, operating system, app version and language.
• Technical data: IP address, request logs, profile view logs and crash reports, which we use to keep the service secure and to fix errors.
• Messages to support: the text you send us and our answers.

3.Your location

Frienlo uses your device location only while the app is open, to show sharings near you and to let you share a place. Frienlo never collects your location in the background.

When you share, the place you share is shown to the audience you choose (friends, close friends or people nearby). Other users see the distance to you, not your exact live position.

You can turn off location access in the settings of your device at any time. Some features then do not work.

4.Why we use your data

• To give you the service you asked for: your account, sharings, requests, friends, notifications and packs (performance of a contract).
• To keep Frienlo safe: to prevent fraud, spam and abuse, to review reports and to enforce our rules (legitimate interest).
• To fix errors and improve the app (legitimate interest).
• To send push notifications and to use your location, only with your permission (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time in the settings of your device.
• To obey the law, for example tax and accounting rules (legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show advertising and we do not use your data for advertising.

5.Who we share data with

• Other users: the profile data and sharings that you make visible, according to your privacy settings.
• Service providers that work for us under contract: Contabo (servers), Cloudflare (network and security), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (notifications), Apple and Google (sign-in), Sentry (crash reports), Payriff (payments) and our email provider.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person.
• A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or merged. We tell you before this happens.

6.International transfers

Some service providers process data outside your country. When data leaves the European Economic Area, we use legal safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.

7.How long we keep data

• Account and profile data: while your account exists.
• Sharings: a sharing is visible for a short time (2 hours by default). We keep it in your sharing history while your account exists.
• After you delete your account: we delete your data after a grace period of 30 days. During this period you can cancel the deletion.
• Transaction records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
• Technical logs: for a limited time, normally not more than 12 months.

8.Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, to get a copy in a portable format and to withdraw your consent.

You can change most data in the app. For other requests, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

9.Age limit

Frienlo is only for people who are 18 years old or older. We do not knowingly collect data from younger persons. If we find such an account, we delete it.

Your birth date is required. We use it to confirm that you are 18 years old or older. The app and our servers accept only birth dates of people who are 18 or older.

10.Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access control and monitoring to protect your data. No system is 100% secure. If a data breach puts you at risk, we tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

11.Changes to this policy

We can change this policy. The effective date at the top shows the current version. If a change is important, we tell you in the app before it starts to apply.
